Welcome to the Texas Association of Marriage and Family Counselors

TAMFC is a division of the Texas Counseling Association .

The Texas Association of Marriage and Family Counselors is an association dedicated to enhancing the growth and development of counselors specializing in the mental health of couples and families. Today's marriage and family counselors must work with a wide variety of family systems including, but not limited to, blended families, single parent families, homosexual and bisexual couples, as well as couples without children.

Marriage and family counselors are confronted with the challenges of working with couple and family systems that may need premarital counseling, marital therapy, separation and/or divorce counseling, coparenting, parent education, family therapy or individual counseling. The problems confronting these diverse groups are complex and unique.

The Texas Association of Marriage and Family Counselors dedicates itself to providing training, information, ethical guidelines, consultation, leadership training and opportunities, public policy updates, legislative advocacy training and participation, as well as continuing education to enhance the professional growth and development of all members.
