Black, Indigenous, and People of Color Grant

Purpose

To provide one-time BIPOC grants of up to $500 to student or new professional members of the association. These funds are explicitly intended for use to support expenses associated with attending TCA’s Annual Professional Growth Conference.

Requirements

  • Applicant must be a continuous and current BIPOC TCA Student or New Professional member.
  • Applicant must not have received a BIPOC or EEF within the last 12 months.
  • Maximum grants of $500 will be awarded to TCA members.
  • Student and New Professional Applicants must be registered either full or part time in a Master’s or Doctoral counseling program or licensed as an LPC Associate.
  • Applicants may not be working a total of more than 30 hours per week in a paid position.
  • Funds must be applied to expenses associated with attending the TCA Professional Growth Conference in-person.
  • Grant recipients who do not attend the TCA Professional Growth Conference must return the entire grant award to TCA.
  • Conference registrations already paid at time of grant will not be refunded.
  • Applicants must provide a short essay or video describing their Conference experience to be published at TCA’s discretion.

Process

  • Applicants must complete and submit the application by Monday, September 22, 2024
  • TCA Equity & Inclusion Committee, in conjunction with the Advisory Council of Past Presidents, will review the applications to select recipients and determine grant amounts.
  • Applicant will be notified of grant awards as quickly as possible.
  • The decisions of the Equity and Inclusion Committee are final.
